Helping quality professionals lead - not just comply
I have worked in the quality profession since 1998. I began as a quality manager in IT and software development before moving into construction as a quality and environmental manager. Since then, my work as a consultant, certification auditor and trainer has taken me across a broad range of industries, including construction, resources, government, project management and engineering.
That experience has shown me that knowing the requirements of a standard is only one part of the job. The real challenge is applying that knowledge in a working organisation—engaging leaders, influencing people, asking better questions and building systems that genuinely support the way work gets done.
Building Auditor Training Online
I am a founding director of Auditor Training Online, an established training provider delivering education across a broad range of ISO management system standards since 2013.
My role has combined the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the business with hands-on technical involvement. As a subject matter expert in quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, and in management systems auditing, I have helped shape training that makes complex requirements practical, relevant and easier to apply.
Building and leading the business has also given me a perspective that extends further than the classroom. I understand the commercial and operational realities organisations face, the responsibility involved in developing credible professional education, and the importance of continually adapting how people learn.

JackieStapleton.com is for quality professionals who want to make a meaningful contribution , not simply tick boxes.
Through my articles, practical downloads and ISO 9001:2026 resources, I translate standards and quality concepts into useful tools that can be applied in the real world. My aim is to help you build confidence, strengthen your influence and create quality systems that deliver value rather than paperwork.
Over time, this work is expanding further into the relationship between quality, leadership and organisational culture. That includes practical leadership and culture resources and, in the future, the Quality Culture Assessment.
Why I wrote Lead the Standard
After decades of working with students and ISO professionals, whether in the classroom, virtually or online, I kept hearing the same question after the training was finished:
“What now?”
A certificate demonstrates knowledge, but knowledge alone does not tell you how to apply what you have learned, navigate resistance or influence the people around you. Those practical and human skills are what turn technical knowledge into professional impact.
That question became the reason I wrote Lead the Standard. The book helps quality professionals move beyond knowing the standard and develop the confidence, communication skills and leadership capability needed to bring it to life.

I want quality professionals to feel passionate about the work they do and confident in the value they bring.
Quality has the potential to improve organisations, strengthen decision-making and positively influence entire industries. To achieve that, quality professionals need to be more than technical experts. They need to become credible, practical and passionate leaders who can bring others with them.
